Akhirnya tiba juga! Setelah berbulan-bulan merilis video teaser dari studio, BMTH baru saja meluncurkan single baru yang ditulis dalam masa karantina di tengah pandemi virus Corona, ‘Parasite Eve’.
“‘Parasite Eve’ muncul dari ide untuk menulis sebuah lagu horor untuk bertahan hidup, tetapi ketika pandemi mulai berkembang, persamaannya sangat terasa sangat dekat dengan situasi sekarang sehingga kami memutuskan untuk menyimpannya,” ujar pentolan BMTH . Oli Sykes“Seiring berjalannya waktu, kami mulai merasakan betapa relevannya itu dan bahwa daripada menghindar dari hal itu, kami seharusnya membahas sisi yang gelap itu, merangkulnya dan memproses apa yang sedang terjadi… ‘Parasite Eve’ adalah pesan harapan kami, terbungkus dalam kesedihan dan kemarahan”.
Lagu itu, yang diproduksi oleh Oli Sykes dan kibordis Jordan Fish, dengan tambahan produksi dari komposer game DOOM dan DOOM Eternal, Mick Gordon, adalah yang pertama dalam seri EP yang akan datang dari Bring Me The Horizon, dengan sang vokalis mengungkapkan bahwa mereka ingin membuat “empat album berbeda untuk tahun berikutnya”.
“Lagu ini akan menjadi bagian dari sebuah album yang memiliki perasaan yang sama dengan (single 2019 mereka) ‘Ludens’,” tuturnya. “Kami belakangan ini hanya menyimpannya dan merekam dari masa lockdown, dan sekarang kami akan membuat empat album berbeda selama tahun depan dan semua album itu akan memiliki judul dasar Post Human“.
